Canadian Visas
Visitor Visa (TRV)
What it is: A visa required for nationals of certain countries to enter Canada temporarily for tourism, visiting family, or business purposes.
Requirements:
Proof of sufficient funds for the visit.
A valid passport.
No history of criminality or security concerns.
Strong ties to home country (job, family, property) to show intent to leave Canada after the visit.
Some applicants may need to undergo a medical exam.
Transit Visa
What it is: A visa for travelers who are passing through Canada on their way to another country and will be in Canada for less than 48 hours.
Requirements:
Required for nationals of certain countries even if they do not leave the airport.
Valid travel documents and proof of onward travel.
Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
What it is: A digital travel authorization required for visa-exempt foreign nationals traveling to Canada by air. Linked electronically to the traveler’s passport, it allows multiple entries for up to 5 years or until the passport expires.
Requirements:
Available only to citizens of visa-exempt countries (e.g., EU countries, UK, Australia).
Super Visa
What it is: A long-term multiple-entry visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, allowing stays of up to 5 years per visit.
Requirements:
Must be a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or PR.
Invitation letter from a child or grandchild in Canada.
Proof of minimum income from the host.
Private Canadian medical insurance for at least one year.
Medical exam may be required.
