Start-Up Visa Program

What it is: A program for entrepreneurs who want to start an innovative business in Canada. Successful applicants and their families receive Permanent Residency (PR).

Requirements:

  • A qualifying business where the applicant holds at least 10% of voting rights, and designated investors own at least 50%.

  • A letter of support from a designated organization (venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator).

  • Language proficiency of at least CLB 5 in English or French.

  • Sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and dependents.

Self-Employed Persons Program

What it is: A program for individuals with experience in cultural or athletic activities who can make a significant contribution to Canada. Successful applicants and their families receive Permanent Residency (PR) with no job creation or investment requirements beyond proving self-sufficiency.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of relevant experience in cultural or athletic activities at a high level within the last five years.

  • Demonstrate the ability and intent to be self-employed in Canada.

  • Meet medical, security, and financial requirements.
